I don't know about everyone else but I know I am not tired of hearing how you feel. I'm concerned, and I care about how you are doing and I am glad you are updating the thread. I'm also glad that you feel like you can confide in us here. I hope it helps you feel a little better to talk about it and know that we all are interested and want you to get better.
It sure does kinda sound like gall bladder, but I'm not a nurse or a doctor so I'm not one to say. I do know my friend who had hers out last year had similar symptoms. Her surgery went very well...just three little entry points, and she was recovered very quickly. If that's what you need, being as young as you are, you'll do fine. If that isn't it they will find out what it is and fix it.
Can you be put on a cancellation list for your apt.? Maybe you can get in sooner if you tell them again that your pain is worse.

i was extremely even more sick today than before..so i decided to go to the ER...i told them about the xrays i had done on thursday...so they looked at the same xray and the notes on them...and on the notes it did say possible gall stones but because of the gases it was hard to get a clear picture but it looked as if..then the drs tell me the test showed nothing! but they did the xrays again just on the gall bladder and they have decided they are stones..so i guess in the next few days i am going to have to have my gall bladder removed just not sure when or how long i will have to stay til i can talk to the surgeon tomorrow....please pray it will all be ok..thanks everyone

they wanted to keep me over night at the hospital last night and i think the only reason they didn't was because i asked if i could get a different surgeon than the one on call..they told me i could but they can only refer the one thats on call the night when someone comes in the ER...so today i called my general physician back and told them i had been to the ER and they have found it was indeed gall stones...they had done more xrays to be sure..and i didn't know if i should call and cancel the appt with the gastro dr. or them because of them setting up the appt. then asked if they would call the surgeon i wanted..he is in the top 10 surgeons in the in US they said sure they will make the appt asap...but they never called me back! it just irrates me..if i was so sick i have continued to keep getting help on this it would seem like they might see i feel pretty crappy and then they just take their sweet time about getting me help..now the woman i called today about my appt is a friend of the family so you would think she would be extra helpful. oh the ER doctor to couldn't believe they gave me nothing for pain..they had me on benedryl then morphine last night...benedryl was for headaches the other for pure pain. that really helped but were the nausea was come and go its constant and its really bugging me..being a single mom of 3 and them just dilly dally through their everyday. i want the surgery done and over with and get on my way to feeling well...just makes me so ill. i could have gone the surgeon and probably had it all over with had i gone with the other surgeon and he is a friend of the familys too but with all the crazy stuff that happens to me in medical situations i wanted one of the best so i wouldn't have to worry and know or hope he was one of the best and would be able to handle situations best. i haven't told all of you this only bunny and linds know but they put me to sleep one time because i had an absess that was too close to the bladder and i guess they were scared i would jump or whatever and cause them to cut the bladder...well when i woke up from being put under found out i started pouring blood out of my ears...never even tried to figure out why or what happened....then when i had graeson...my blood pressure bottomed out on me 3 times and they thought i was gonna die.. they did all kinds of test and never could figure out why that happened either...so this is why i get terrified over even the small stuff medically with myself. anyway...i just hope i am ok this time next week and with no gall bladder.

Me too I hope you recover quickly from it. They'll tell you this when you are discharged but I'll tell you too, you may be feeling better sooner than they expect and if thats the case still rest atleast until your staples are out which is usually 7-10 days. I hope you go through the surgery without any problems Thats horrible that they didn't see what happened the last time your under, nor the reason for what happened when you were having Graeson. Keep us posted and get well soon:)

Sorry I'm just now getting on here and reading your updates, Lisa. It's been crazy busy around here. I went with my friend Beth last year when she had her gall bladder removed, and they were able to do outpatient because they just did the three little incisions. About the only complication she had was gas afterward. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think you mentioned if they were going to be able to do it that way, or if you have to have a full incision. Hopefully it will be the easier way. Please make sure the surgeon is aware of your past history of complications. I don't care if you feel funny telling them everything again or not, please do it anyway just in case they have missed something. They need to be aware of everything so they can be on their toes for sure. I don't expect anything to go wrong because it really is a common operation, but it doesn't hurt to be thorough. BTW, as soon as the gas was gone, Beth started feeling better right away. The pain was gone and she only had a little soreness at the incision site. So that is something to look forward to! A light at the end of the tunnel! I'll be glad when you feel good again and can get back to your normal life. Dad is still having his out on Monday, even after having such a severe cold and cough that both Mom and I think he is in a slightly weakened state. (he's also 78) I'm not happy about it and would have preferred he wait another week or so, but...he's doing it. Men. sigh Keep us posted Lisa, and let us know how you are doing. You know I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

gosh bunny my prayers go out to your dad too.... well i finally got an appt for tuesday to meet with the surgeon..they will go over my xrays and set up a surgery date..the receptionist told me that they will do the surgery that same week...once i found out it was gall stones for sure i decided (because i had so much gas before hand, i hope it won't be worse than what i had= and i am not a gassy person at ALLL typically) i know too much info lol...but i decided i would basically not eat much of anything and see if it would help. i have general for my meal one half a sandwich of a bland meat and then jello the rest of the day. and that has helped me alot with the pain...i am sore but nothing as bad as i have been feeling. but the soreness is like you might expect if you had loaded heavy boxes for an 8 hour shift..still so much better than the other pains i was having. but get this...i got back with my doctors office the one that was suppose to call or said they would call and make the appt for me to meet with the surgeon and i asked her did she set the appt up for me to meet with him..she said no she just called and gave me a reference so i had to call back and make the appt...i was sooo mad cause then i had to wait til the next day! but anyway i have it all set up and hopefully they will have me fixed sometime this week. now that i don't have the sever pain i have doubted going through with it but i will cause i know if i ever want to eat a real meal i will be back in pain. and NO worries about me filling him in on my past experiences and freak incidents cause i want him to be prepared in case he needs to act. i definately am not ready to leave this world so quick with my kids so young..that would be such a bad thing...the kids need me and i sure don't trust their father to raise them correctly...so i have no qualms about letting the surgeon know whats what...thanks again for the support. and i have heard about them doing the out patient surgery on this type of thing too this week..but i am going to request if he would consider keeping me over night just incase...my mother also wants me to stay one night over night..this surgeon did my sister in laws gall bladder removal and kept her one night not sure why but yes she only had three little incision scars..my sister went to southern pines to have hers removed and they put a huge hole in her stomach...which we have no idea why he did that ...anyway as soon as i can i will get back and let everyone know how its going... if i stay over night i will try and call linds or bunny so they can post how it went and if i survived it all....lol i think its gonna be ok but i ain't gonna jinx it. thanks again everyone

By now you've probably already had your surgery, Lisa. I haven't been on much to read the updates.
Dad had his done, and than goodness he did great. He isn't even in very much pain, and he was able to have the tiny incisions. Amazing how they can do so much with such little entry points.
I feel like you will be on the road to recovery in no time, and I bet you feel a lot better after it's over.
Please let us know how you are doing. If you happen to see a computer soon, know that you've been in my thoughts and prayers.

i went in and had the gall bladder removed but while they were doing that...and removed the tube it was covered in black tarry blood..older blood and they weren't sure where it came from...so then i had more test ran and then they did a check for ulcers....they stuck a camera down my throat and into my stomach to see what might be going on..that was this morning and i am very very sore and it was just an overall ordeal ...then i also found out the stretched my esphogas out..not sure why but they said it was shrinking lol so its been a very sickly week.. which is why i guess my throat is killing me too

Four WEEKS!!!! GEEMINY. That's so long for you to have to wait. I'm so sorry you're going through this, Lisa. Hopefully today your throat isn't as sore and you are feeling a little better. Maybe when you see the surgeon on Monday he will think they'll get the results back a little quicker. Sometimes they add time to what they tell you just so the patient doesn't call them and ask for the results, but the tests come back sooner. So I hope that happens and they call you sooner than four weeks.
In the meantime, did they put you on a special diet to help with the ulcers? I know you have to watch what you eat after gb surgery too, but I didn't know if they have you doing anything for the ulcers yet or not. I hope some of your pain is lessoning from the surgery. Those first few days after something like that are just plain hard.
